Kendriya Vidyalaya, D.L.W., Varanasi came into being in 1978 with about 400 students from class I to VI. Since then it has grown by leaps and bounds and created many great personalities of repute. At present the total strength of the students is 1655. We have classes right from class I to XII with both science and commerce streams at +2 level. The sanctioned staff strength is 63 and as on today with 60 competent teachers on the roll  , the Vidyalaya has carried a niche in the portals of the reputed educational institutions of India.

Total land of Kendriya Vidyalaya DLW Varanasi is 15 Acre It is leased by Railway for 99 Years. 

The Kendriya Vidyalaya DLW was previousely running  in the campus of DLW in temporary accomodation provided by DLW  upto june 1996. Ater lease deed of land for 99 Years permanent construction of school building is made by KVS  inaugrated by Sh. Rajender Kumar Jain (General Manager, DLW) on 06/09/1996.

Presentely Kendriya Vidyalaya DLW is running in permanent  'B' Type Building with good location.
